Research (another question from global warming)
All people recognize global warming but truth is they don’t really think it is serious.
There are some opinions about the reason from different people.
“Legendary business guru Tom Peters’ web log has an interesting discussion going on that starts by suggesting the issue is “poorly marketed”, and has a “weak brand”.
“Personally, I like the phrase “Global Weirding” as it implies that a) We’re not entirely sure what the heck is going to happen, and b) whatever it is, it’s may be weird and problematic. What do you think?”

I like to read not only article on the Internet but also people’s comments because it is another good way to know current people thought and get ideas.
Here’s one of the comments to the guy above.
“Global Warming is way too mild of a term. We need to use the term: Global Overheating. When our cars overheat and we ignore the warning lights, our cars will soon stop running because we will have destroyed the engine. Our overheating of the earth warning lights has been on for too long. If we keep ignoring the warnings, it may be too late. Life as we know it will soon come to an end.” » Tom at May 4, 2005 11:21 PM
Here’s old Research about problem with marketing global warming.
ENVIRONMENT Canada spends a good part of its $600-million annual budget cranking out the message that nature is good, man is bad, and global warming is a live threat to life on the planet. The department’s Web site is totally dedicated to planting fear of global warming and the looming climate crisis.
Despite a decade of unrelenting publicity, the vast majority of Canadians are barely aware of climate change, those that are aware don’t know what it is, and almost nobody feels it’s an urgent national issue.
Fixing the name occupied a bit of time. Climate change is just too general, too vague, too meaningless, too benign. Mr. Victor suggested a national contest to rename climate change, perhaps along more menacing lines. The conclusion here seemed to be that if this movie had a new title, say, The Godzilla Effect, it might have a better chance of capturing the public’s imagination and attracting a bigger audience.

This research I found on the Internet were very interesting to me and made me think our topic again. So I printed them out and showed our group members. It was a good chance to rethink ideas and a presentation.
During 7 weeks, we’ve changed our ideas again and again.
However this week we made a final decision what we really going to do with our topic.
My opinion was if the global warming fails to market it to people, why don’t we make an AD for that?
The ad we want to make is about global warming but it’s actually not for general people.
It means we are the company who sell ideas for the other companies to advertise themselves and global warming to people. (It is a confused statement anyway-_-;)
To market us, we are planning to make an advertisement.
-Make company’s name and logo
-Make a marketing statement
-Make an advertisement for marketing
-Prepare a good presentation to advertise the company
